My name is Steph and I’m a 20 year old Mexican-American living in the greatest city in the world (in my biased opinion)…San Antonio, TX. It’s perfect to me because it embodies the spirit of my culture. My family hails from South Texas and Mexico, and SA is the perfect blend between the two. I love it. I don’t want to live anywhere but here. I’m sure you can already tell that I am very proud of my ethnicity and background. Yes, I am. I think it’s important for people to be proud of where they come form. And I’ll be honest, I’m just as proud to be a Mexican as I am to be an American.
So like I said, my name is Steph. I’m not gonna get into my full name because only a handful of people know what it is. It’s not anything embarassing or whatever, but it’s just not something I tell people for some reason. I do have many nicknames and chances are, if you know me, you have one for me. I’m called everything from Banana to Squeeks to Bean Taco. I love having nicknames and I love giving out nicknames. It’s part of my dorkiness, but it makes me who I am. A little about me…I love Yellowcard. That should be the first and foremost thing you learn. Without Yellowcard, Steph is not Steph. Those guys have given me more than they’ll ever know. And there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them and all they’ve done for me. I also love sports. I’m a fanatic, actually. I love everything about sports. I love to play, to watch, to analyze, and even coach. I’ve coached a year of basketball and volleyball, for 7th grade girls. Those kids probably took about 5 years off my life with all the stress they brought me, but I love them and loved my time with them. Basketball is my passion. I love everything about it; it’s a beautiful game when it’s played the right way. The Spurs and Silver Stars are my teams. For football, it’s the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas A&M Aggies. Baseball, the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and SA Missions. Soccer, the Mexican National team. Hockey, the SA Rampage. And tennis, Maria Sharapova…she’s definately my fave. Yeah, that’s a lot of teams/players that I support. But I love it. And if you’ve been lucky enough to see me at one of my team’s games then you know how ridiculous I can be. But it’s all part of the charm. I’m definately not perfect and I don’t try to be.
I’m a person that loves with everything I’ve got. And if I love you, then I LOVE you. There isn’t any half-assed love going on. I love con todo mi corazon. And I love God very much and all He has done for me. It’s unbelievable the path He has put me on and the people He has brought into my life. Yall know who you are. People I would otherwise not know existed, had it not been for something God did, are now people I love near and dear. So all I have left to say is this: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” -Phil. 4:13
